The Ministry Side of Media – Building and Growing the Team

A class devoted to discussing the importance of the ministry that we all do on Sundays. Whether you are a volunteer leading the media or paid staff, we must not forget that we have a team that needs a strong leader. It is easy to get focused on the nuts and bolts of media and forget about the needs of the people we are serving with.

Topics to discuss during our time together:

  • Tools out there to help us plan more effectively
  • Ideas and ways to be a spiritual leader over the media team
  • How to recruit new volunteers?
  • How to keep the volunteers you have?
  • Communication with the music ministry/minister of music/worship leader.

Who Cares if the Lyrics are Slow During the Music? It’s just a few songs!”

During our time together we will look at the importance of proper Lyrical Engineering. If you use big screens for worship lyrics the most important position on your team is the Lyrical Engineer. Why is it so important to get this right? The entire worship team and congregation are depending on you. Let’s take some time and dive into this topic and really find ways to enhance the worship experience at our churches and conferences.

Topics that will be covered:
  • Backgrounds verse live video
  • Proper placement of lyrics
  • What is the best software for the money? PC and MAC
  • Effective use of big screens during a worship service
  • Multi-screen set ups and the potential we all have.

“Wow, did you see when the camera went crazy on the screen today?”

A statement we do not want to hear after a Sunday morning worship service. We will talk about all the video production aspects of a service. I-MAG techniques as well as shooting the best broadcast service possible will be discussed. What cameras and video switchers are available? What can we do with a limited budget or practically no budget at all?

Topics for this great time of discussion:
  • The difference in Image Magnification and a Broadcast Service
  • Directing a live show
  • Camera techniques that your volunteers must learn
  • Equipment and resources available
